Okay, I have to be honest with you. I review a lot of products on this blog — toys, treats, gear, all kinds of things. But nothing has ever made me sit up straighter and pay more attention than the day my human showed me this book.

It’s called Scout Finds a Job, and the main character is a loveable German Shepherd with big dreams. His name is Scout. His name is Scout. I’m not saying this book was written about me, but I’m also not not saying that.

What’s It About? 🐾

Scout the German Shepherd sets out on a heartwarming adventure to find his perfect job. Along the way he explores some of the most noble and exciting careers a dog could dream of — police work, firefighting, Search and Rescue, and guiding the blind. Each one is more impressive than the last.

What job does Scout choose in the end? You’ll have to read it to find out. (I know the answer. I’m not telling.)

This book is perfect for young readers and dog lovers of all ages. At 24 pages it’s the ideal length for a bedtime story, and the story celebrates the idea that every dog — every creature — has something special to offer the world. Look, I review products for a living. I know quality when I sniff it. And this book has heart. It’s a celebration of purpose, of finding your place in the world, of being the good boy (or girl) you were always meant to be. My human read it to me twice. I sat very still both times, which if you know me, is basically a standing ovation.

Also, the main character is a German Shepherd. Automatic five paws. Non-negotiable.
