Hi, it’s Oakley. Scout has been reviewing toys again — balls, frisbees, things you throw and chase, very exciting, sure — and I’ve been waiting patiently for my turn to tell you about something actually important.
Treats. Specifically, Zuke’s Mini Naturals Training Treats. And before you say “training treats, how boring” — stop. You’re wrong. These are not boring. These are tiny little flavor explosions and I would do almost anything for one. Almost.
First Impressions 👃
The bag opened and I was immediately present. Like, professionally present. Sitting. Making eye contact. Doing my best impression of a very good dog who deserves treats immediately. My human seemed pleased by this. I was not doing it for them. I was doing it for the treats.
They’re tiny — about the size of a pea — which I’ll admit I was skeptical about at first. Smaller than I usually prefer. But then I tasted one and revised my position entirely.
The Taste Test 🐕
We tried the chicken flavor. It’s soft, chewy, and smells genuinely amazing. Not in a fake, artificial way — in a real, actual chicken way. My nose, which is an excellent and highly reliable instrument, confirmed this immediately.
The soft texture means they’re easy to eat quickly, which is actually ideal for training because you don’t lose momentum waiting for your dog to crunch through something. Not that I needed training. I was already perfect. But my human disagreed, and these treats made our sessions significantly more enjoyable for everyone involved.
Scout tried to sneak one. I gave him a look. He backed away. We don’t need to discuss it further.
What’s In Them? 📝
Here’s where I give my humans credit: they actually read the ingredients before buying these. Real chicken is the first ingredient. They’re under 3 calories each, which means you can use a lot of them in a training session without overdoing it. No corn, no wheat, no soy. No artificial colors or flavors.
As someone who takes her diet seriously — I have a figure to maintain — I appreciate this. A treat that tastes incredible AND won’t derail my wellness goals? Exceptional product design.
