Furbo Dog Camera — Scout’s Review

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ — 5 out of 5 Paws

I need to tell you about the day a small white cylinder appeared on our kitchen counter and changed everything I thought I knew about home security, snack delivery, and whether or not my human is actually watching me when they leave the house.

The device is called the Furbo Dog Camera. It has a camera. It has a speaker. And it shoots treats. Out of its face. On command. From your human’s phone. From anywhere in the world.

I have many thoughts about this.

The First Day

My human set it up, showed me a treat going into the top, and then left for work. I watched the Furbo. The Furbo watched me back. I was not sure how I felt about this.

Then my human’s voice came out of it. “Scout! Hi buddy!” From the device. On the counter. While my human was not home. I looked at it. I looked at the door. I looked back at it. Then it shot a treat across the kitchen and I decided the Furbo was my friend.

This is the Furbo experience. It takes about thirty seconds to go from confused to completely on board.

What It Actually Does

The Furbo streams live 1080p HD video to your human’s phone — with 4x zoom and a 160-degree wide angle view so they can see the whole room. There’s two-way audio, so they can hear you and talk to you in real time. And the treat tosser holds your dog’s favorite treats and launches them on command from the app.

It also has a barking sensor that sends your human a push notification if you bark — which I found mildly invasive but ultimately fair. It also has color night vision, so yes, they can see you in the dark too. I have adjusted my nighttime activities accordingly.

The Treat Toss — A Deep Analysis

Let me spend some time on this feature because it deserves it. When the treat launches, it arcs through the air and lands somewhere in the general area. Sometimes I catch it mid-flight. Sometimes I have to find it. Both outcomes are acceptable. My personal record is four consecutive catches. I am working on five.

The treat size is adjustable, which means my human can calibrate it to exactly the right treat for the launch mechanism. This is thoughtful engineering. I respect it.

Oakley, when she discovered the Furbo, immediately sat in front of it with perfect posture and waited. She got three treats. I got six. I had figured out the system first. This matters.

The Separation Anxiety Factor

I’ll be straightforward with you: I don’t love it when my humans leave. Most dogs don’t. The Furbo doesn’t replace them being home, but it genuinely helps. Hearing my human’s voice during the day, getting a treat, knowing they can see me — it’s a real comfort. My humans say I’m noticeably calmer on Furbo days. I say I’m always calm. We’ll call it a draw.

Scout’s Verdict

The Furbo Dog Camera is, without question, one of the most interesting products I’ve ever reviewed. It’s a camera, a speaker, and a treat cannon all in one. My human feels better about leaving. I feel better about them being gone. And I get treats launched at me from across the room. There are no downsides that outweigh this.

5 out of 5 paws. The magical treat box has my full endorsement. 🐾
